Program Management

The Picayune School District Early Head Start has provided EHS services in Pearl River County for the past 22 years, CCP services for the past 7 years, and Head Start for the past 2 years. Further, for the entirety of those 22 years, PSD ECP has an exemplary record of services, and to date, have no deficiencies noted during annual OHS federal reviews, showing the program’s ability to meet the required qualifications to administer Head Start and Early Head Start programs.

Key program management functions are planned, managed, and directed EHS center-based sites by the Early Childhood Programs Director with the exception of the Assistant Superintendent who serves as the Executive Director (responsible for the management oversight of the Early Head Start) and the Finance Director who tracks expenditures and provides the Board and Policy Council with reports at each meeting. The reports provide summary of all expenditures, as well as balances for each fund code and line items.

The Programs Director has a more direct responsibility for assuring that management systems are in place and fully functioning to guarantee consistently high quality service delivery at all times. Site Managers work across operational lines to ensure that services in Family / Community Engagement, Education and Health Services are well integrated into the Head Start & Early Head Start program of service delivery with appropriate coordination of services at both the central office and the local delivery level.
